Madhuri Dixit is undoubtedly one of India's most beloved actresses, known for her exceptional talent and unforgettable performances. Over the years, she has worked with renowned filmmaker Subhash Ghai on several iconic films, including Ram Lakhan and Khal Nayak.
Recently, Subhash Ghai reminisced about Madhuri’s first audition for him, sharing a special moment from that time. He revealed that the 'big star' Jackie Shroff was present during her audition and offered her immense support and encouragement.
On Saturday, Subhash Ghai took to Instagram to share a heartfelt post celebrating Jackie Shroff's birthday. He posted a picture featuring himself with Jackie and Madhuri Dixit, reminiscing about their memorable moments together.
In the caption, Ghai playfully wrote, "When a star auditions with a new star?"—a nod to the early days of Madhuri's career, with Jackie offering his support during her audition.
Recalling Madhuri Dixit’s first audition and Jackie Shroff’s support, Subhash Ghai fondly shared how Jackie appreciated Madhuri's talent. He mentioned that Jackie, being a big star at the time, was incredibly encouraging and boosted Madhuri’s confidence, which played a significant role in her early career.
The caption, further read, "In 1984, when I asked Jackie Shroff, big star of Hero n Karma, to join Madhuri Dixit in her first audition by me for Mukta Arts - he immediately came n encouraged her n appreciated her n told me what a beautiful discovery boss."
Extending his birthday wishes to Jackie Shroff, the filmmaker expressed, “Today I remember him on his birthday with all my love n pride coz jackie has always been a kindest star to his juniors n remain grateful to his seniors. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACKIE SHROFF n god bless u the happiest life with same qualities always. You are our darling star always.”
Madhuri Dixit has shared the screen with Jackie Shroff in several films, including Uttar Dakshin, Khal Nayak, Devdas, and many others.
In a recent interview, Sooraj Barjatya shared that Madhuri Dixit had expressed interest in joining Hum Saath Saath Hain and was open to playing Salman Khan’s sister-in-law. However, Sooraj admitted he was hesitant about the idea, as he felt it would be difficult for the audience to accept them in different roles after their iconic romantic pairing in Hum Aapke Hain Koun.
He believed that their previous romantic connection in Hum Aapke Hain Koun would make it challenging for viewers to accept them in such contrasting roles.
Sooraj Barjatya said, “I told her ‘Madhuri, I am making a male-dominated picture and if I cast you opposite Salman, then it is a very small role for you and if I cast you opposite Mohnish Bahl, then you will be playing bhabhi to Salman Khan." “She is such a lovely lady, she said ‘It doesn’t matter, it is a joy to work together.’ But then I said I will not be comfortable," he recalled.
