In a candid and revealing interview, renowned filmmaker Subhash Ghai did not hold back from sharing his honest opinions about several famous Bollywood actors, including Jackie Shroff and Shatrughan Sinha. Ghai’s comments came during an appearance on Arbaaz Khan's talk show, The Invincibles Series Season 2.

Subhash Ghai made headlines by labeling Jackie Shroff as a "bad actor". Reflecting on his experiences, Ghai said, "Paanch kism ke actor hote hain sir. Ek hota hai non-actor, aur ek hota hai bad actor" (There are five types of actors, one is a non-actor and another is a bad actor). He continued, "Bad actor was Jackie Shroff. Actor is Anil Kapoor."

These statements were part of a broader discussion on the different categories of actors Ghai has worked with over his illustrious career. Jackie Shroff, despite being a prominent figure in Bollywood, was bluntly categorized as a bad actor by the veteran filmmaker.

Ghai also spoke about Shatrughan Sinha, describing him as "overconfident". He noted, "Shatrughan ka sabse bada problem tha ki woh time pe kabhi nahi pahuchta tha" (Shatrughan's biggest issue was that he was never on time). This candid remark highlights Ghai’s perception of Sinha’s attitude during their professional interactions.

Subhash Ghai's comments shed light on the complexities of working with various actors in the film industry. His observations are particularly striking given his long-standing career and the number of successful films he has directed.

Subhash Ghai's relationship with Jackie Shroff dates back to their collaboration on the 1983 film 'Hero', which marked Shroff's acting debut. They later worked together on 'Karma' (1986), 'Ram Lakhan' (1989), and 'Khal Nayak' (1993). Despite these collaborations, Ghai’s latest remarks suggest that he found Shroff’s acting skills lacking.

Ghai’s collaborations with Shatrughan Sinha include films like 'Kalicharan' (1976) and 'Vishwanath' (1978). Despite Sinha's established reputation in the industry, Ghai’s critique focused on his punctuality and overconfidence, which he implies were challenging aspects of their working relationship.

In the same interview, Subhash Ghai addressed being called the 'showman' of Indian cinema, a title often attributed to his grand and successful films. Ghai, however, expressed his reservations about this label, indicating that he does not entirely embrace this image. His notable films include 'Kalicharan' (1976), 'Karz' (1980), 'Hero' (1983), 'Meri Jung' (1985), 'Ram Lakhan' (1989), 'Saudagar' (1991), 'Khal Nayak' (1993), 'Pardes' (1997), and 'Taal' (1999).

Ghai also reflected on his working relationship with Shah Rukh Khan, with whom he collaborated on the 1997 film 'Pardes'. He recalled, "Jaise maine Pardes mein Shah Rukh Khan ke saath kaam kiya. Uske aur mere beech manmutaav chalta rehta tha, tu-tu main-main chalti rehti thi" (I worked with Shah Rukh in 'Pardes'. We had our share of disagreements). Despite the creative differences, 'Pardes' remains a significant film in both their careers.
