Actor Karthik Jayaram, best known for his portrayal of Raavana in the TV show 'Siya Ke Ram', shared his thoughts on the significance of celebrating International Men’s Day.

International Men’s Day, observed annually on November 19, is a day dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the men in our lives and their contributions to the betterment of society.

Karthik mentioned, "Human beings are the most evolved creatures on earth. Over the centuries, they have managed to build the most advanced civilization. Each member of society plays a part in the overall functioning of the community. An essential characteristic of human civilization is that some responsibilities are divided along gender lines."

He added, "While there has been a trend toward achieving gender equality over the last century, the traditional positions of women and men in society continue to influence our worldview."

Talking ahead, the fit actor said, "In most societies, men are regarded as the defenders. Well still a man is considered very strong emotionally and he himself feels not to vent out his emotions. This is because he still feels how society looks at him if he breaks down. He is still fighting his own battles and most of the time feels helpless, but hardly he shows it. While this might sound like an old concept, it continues to prevail in modern times."

Karthik concluded with saying, "I personally believe that not everyone are same. And accepting a person how he/she is important. This has nothing to do with their gender. We can't expect every man to be strong enough. This day serves as a platform to address important issues related to men’s health, well-being, and gender equality, thereby encouraging positive male role models and fostering discussions around the challenges men face in today’s world. It is very much important to honour the incredible men in our life and celebrate their strength, resilience, and kindness."

On the professional front, Karthik Jayaram was last seen in the 2020 film 'O Pushpa I Hate Tears', where he portrayed the role of Adhitya. He is now gearing up for the release of his upcoming Kannada movie, 'Kaada', and is set to begin shooting for another project titled 'Marga'. Notably, Karthik was the second runner-up in the 2017 reality show 'Bigg Boss Kannada 5' and is widely recognized for his role as Jay, JK, Krishna in the popular Kannada television soap opera 'Ashwini Nakshatra'.
