Shweta Tiwari has captivated audiences with her performance in Rohit Shetty’s Indian Police Force. Her next project will see her stepping into the role of an intelligence officer under Ajay Devgn’s character, Sangram Bhalerao, in Singham Again. However, Shweta’s career is taking yet another exciting turn as she collaborates with the renowned filmmaker Karan Johar.

In an exclusive interview with News18 Showsha, Shweta revealed details about her new venture with Dharma Productions. She shared, “I’m thrilled to announce that I am part of Dharma Productions’ upcoming web series.

She added, In this series, I play a don-like character who is quite unconventional. My character wears a saree and smokes cigarettes, which adds a unique twist to her persona (laughs). It was a very challenging role, and that’s exactly why I was drawn to it.”

This new project marks another significant milestone in Shweta Tiwari’s career, showcasing her versatility and ability to take on diverse roles. Her collaboration with Karan Johar's production house is highly anticipated and promises to bring a fresh and dynamic character to the screen.

For those who may not know, Shweta Tiwari has not only made a name for herself in television but has also ventured into the film industry. However, her journey in films has been far from smooth. She faced discrimination numerous times across various projects.

Recalling one particularly disheartening experience, Shweta shared, “There’s this very famous director, whose name I prefer not to disclose. He once called me to audition for a role in his film. He praised my suitability for the character and expressed a strong desire to have me play the part. But then he said, ‘The problem is, you’re a TV actor. How am I supposed to sell this? How do I convince the producers that you, a television actress, are right for this role?’”

Despite the director’s recognition of her talent, Shweta was confronted with the harsh reality of typecasting and industry biases. Her skills and experience were overshadowed by the stigma attached to being a television actress.

This episode is just one of many instances where Shweta faced prejudice, highlighting the challenges she had to overcome in her pursuit of a film career.

Shweta’s resilience and determination have seen her through these tough times, as she continues to break barriers and challenge the status quo. Her story is a testament to her unwavering spirit and the struggles many actors face when transitioning between different mediums in the entertainment industry.
