Several Tamil actresses, including Shruti Haasan and Aishwarya Rajesh, who have previously collaborated with Dhanush, have responded to Nayanthara's powerful open letter directed at him.

On Saturday, Nayanthara made waves in the Tamil film industry by publicly calling out Dhanush. The actress revealed that Dhanush, who had produced 'Naanum Rowdy Dhaan', had filed a lawsuit against her for Rs 10 crore for using behind-the-scenes footage in her upcoming documentary. In her statement, Nayanthara highlighted the difficulties she had been facing in securing permission from the actor.

The 'Jawan' actress took to Instagram to criticize Dhanush, calling him "vile" for sending a Rs 10 crore legal notice. She voiced her frustration, stating that someone as well-established as Dhanush, with the backing of his influential family, should understand that for people like her, the film industry is a constant struggle for survival. The caption of her post read, “@dhanushkraja OM NAMAH SHIVAYA,” accompanied by a folded hand emoji.

The open letter has gone viral, prompting several actresses who have worked with Dhanush to react. Shruti Haasan, who collaborated with Dhanush in 3 (Moonu), appeared to show support for Nayanthara by ‘liking’ the actress’s post, hinting that she is on Team Nayanthara.

Other co-stars of Dhanush, including Aishwarya Rajesh (Vada Chennai), Aishwarya Lekshmi (Jagame Thandhiram), Nazriya Fahadh (Naiyaandi), Anupama Parameswaran (Kodi), Parvathy Thiruvothu (Maryan), Manjima Mohan (Nilavuku Enmel Ennadi Kobam), and Gouri G Kishan (Karnan), have also shown their support for Nayanthara by ‘liking’ her post. Parvathy went a step further by sharing the post on her Instagram Stories and saluting Nayanthara.

Nayanthara is set to release her much-anticipated documentary, 'Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairy Tale', on Netflix on November 18. The documentary will provide an intimate glimpse into the actress’s life, exploring both the highs and lows, including her love story with filmmaker Vignesh Shivan, which began on the sets of 'Naanum Rowdy Dhaan'.

Nayanthara emphasized that she had made several efforts to obtain Dhanush’s permission in advance. "After two long years of battling it out with you for an NOC (No Objection Certificate) and waiting for your approval for our Netflix documentary release, we finally decided to give up, re-edit, and settle for the current version. This decision came after you declined to permit the usage of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan songs, visual cuts, or even photographs, despite multiple requests".

Towards the end of her open letter, Nayanthara wrote, "It's almost been 10 years since the release of the film, and it's a long time for someone to continue being this vile while wearing a mask in front of the world. I have not forgotten all the horrible things you said about the film, which was one of your biggest hits as a producer and is still loved by all today. The words you spoke before its release have left unhealable scars on us. I learned through film circles that your ego was severely hurt after the film became a blockbuster."
