Television actress Dipika Kakar, who has been bravely navigating health challenges following her treatment for liver cancer, has undergone a procedure to address a newly detected stomach cyst, and her husband Shoaib Ibrahim has shared a reassuring update with fans.

On Tuesday, Shoaib took to his Instagram Story to inform followers that the procedure was successful and that Dipika is now recovering comfortably in hospital.

"Allah ke karam se aur aapki sabki duaon se Dippi' procedure is done. All went well. She is also doing fine bas thode pain mein hai, but nothing to worry. Thank you once again for all your prayers."

The 13 mm (1.3 cm) cyst was discovered after Dipika began experiencing stomach discomfort and shoulder pain, prompting a medical evaluation earlier in the week. Despite having undergone extensive treatment for liver cancer, including a complex 14-hour surgery in 2025 to remove a tumour, the new cyst was detected early, allowing doctors to proceed with a minimally invasive procedure. While the cyst wasn’t visible during a December PET scan, the CT scan this month identified the new growth, leading to the decision to treat it promptly to avoid complications.

Shoaib shared in a previous update that the cyst will be treated by “burning” it during the brief hospital stay — a process expected to require three to four days of monitoring — and that no major surgery would be necessary.

He also noted that aside from the cyst, Dipika’s other health metrics appeared normal, and the early detection was a relief for both of them. Dipika herself has spoken about the emotional impact of the recurring medical challenges, calling on others to stay vigilant about their health and not ignore even mild symptoms.
