Television actress Dipika Kakar is preparing for a minor surgical procedure to remove a 13 mm cyst as part of her ongoing health journey amid her battle with liver cancer. The development was revealed by her husband, Shoaib Ibrahim, in a recent YouTube vlog outlining the couple’s health updates.

Dipika — widely known for her roles in shows like Sasural Simar Ka and as a winner of Bigg Boss 12 — was previously diagnosed last year with a cancerous tumour in her liver, which led to an extensive operation in June 2025 where 22 percent of her liver was removed. Regular follow-ups have been part of her post-surgery care, and it was during one of these recent check-ups that the new cyst was discovered following complaints of mild abdominal pain.

In the vlog, Shoaib explained that the couple noticed Dipika experiencing stomach discomfort and left-shoulder pain, prompting medical attention and a subsequent CT scan that revealed the new cyst. Although the pain in her shoulder was not linked to the cyst, doctors advised addressing the cyst early. The planned procedure won’t require a major surgery; instead, the cyst will be burned off, and she will remain hospitalized for about 3–4 days during the treatment.

He said, "Saare scanario mila ke pahuche ki hum isko treat krege par aisi koi major-major surgery nahi hogi, but ander vo cyst hai usko burn karege. Lekin 3-4 din ka admission hoga. Tuesday ko surgery hogi, toh ye, pray ki jiyega ki ache se ho jaye."

Dipika shared in the vlog that such health challenges are part of life’s journey, especially when fighting serious illnesses like cancer, and she urged others in similar battles to remain determined and vigilant about even minor symptoms. She reflected on the fear she felt but expressed relief at early detection, emphasising the importance of regular medical follow-ups.

"Stomach ke saath wahi shoulder pain ho raha yeh humare liye alarming tha. Toh doctors kahe rahe hai ki yeh us wajah se nahi hai par yeh pata nahi kyo ho raha hai fir CT kiya."

Shoaib also noted that while most current test results are within normal ranges, a slight elevation in her blood markers has led doctors to consider shifting her treatment plan — possibly moving from oral chemotherapy to immunotherapy once the cyst issue is resolved, though a final decision will be made after the procedure.
