Fans all around the nation have been moved by actress Dipika Kakar's recent disclosure of a very personal chapter of her life: receiving a stage two breast cancer diagnosis.

Speaking openly on a podcast with Bharti Singh and Harsh Limbachiyaa, she described her experience from the first diagnosis to the surgery, considering the feelings, anxieties, and, in the end, the thankfulness that has changed her outlook on life.

She spoke about how the surgery and the challenges around it made her realise just how precious the everyday blessings in life are—things often taken for granted, like family, food, and a home. The love and support she received during her hospital stay, she says, left a profound impact on her.

She revealed, “After my entire surgery experience, the level of gratitude I feel for everything in my life has completely changed. You know, as I said, I’m surrounded by love. I have a happy family, food, a home. There are so many people who are struggling, and for them, even getting access to treatment is a big thing. Realising all this in life has been huge for me. And the kind of love I received in the hospital… I can’t even express it in words.”

Despite her reports coming back normal during a recent hospital visit, Dipika admitted that a lingering fear remains—a natural part of any recovery journey. Nevertheless, she made the decision to use her position to inspire others to persevere and to choose optimism and fortitude despite hardship.

She urged, “I just want to share this with all of you. I know so many people are dealing with situations far more serious than mine, and even your families might be going through tough times. All I want to say is, don’t give up. Choose life. Choose happiness. Face everything with strength, and hold on to your faith in God. That’s all.”
