Sara Ali Khan joins Ganga aarti

Sara Ali Khan once again showed her spiritual side as she took part in the Ganga Aarti at Varanasi’s Dashashwamedh Ghat on Saturday evening.

The surrounding was rich indevotion as the sound of temple bells, beating drums, and chanting mantras were echoing through the ghat as Sara stood in prayer, offering her respects to the holy river.

Sara was seen wearing a simple ethnic outfit and barely any makeup, the actress blended in beautifully with the other devotees. Her grounded presence didn’t go unnoticed, with many pleasantly surprised and delighted to see her there, offering prayers with them. Members of the Ganga Seva Nidhi, including President Sushant Mishra, greeted the Love Aaj Kal actress with an angavastra and prasad in a warm traditional welcome.

This isn’t the first time Sara has been drawn to Varanasi’s spiritual energy. She has previously taken part in the Ganga Aarti several times before, often alongside her mother, actress Amrita Singh.

Since making her debut in 2018 with Kedarnath, Sara has frequently visited temples and religious sites like Kedarnath, sharing glimpses of her faith and traditions with her fans.

While many were impressed with her for staying connected to her roots,many have also critisised her for visiting Hindu temples, given her lineage from the Nawabi Pataudi family.

Sara has never shied away from addressing the negativity. As she once said, “I do not wish to see things through the lens of religion and the caste divide in society.” Her words reflect a calm conviction — a refusal to let faith be boxed into identity.

On the professional front, Sara is currently busy shooting for Pati Patni Aur Woh 2, in which she stars opposite Ayushmann Khurrana for the first time. The shoot is currently taking place in Prayagraj, formerly known as Allahabad.

However, the production recently faced an unexpected hurdle. Reports suggest that filming was disrupted when a group of locals turned aggressive, allegedly assaulting members of the crew and creating panic on set. The exact cause of the confrontation remains unclear, but the incident has sparked concern over the safety of film shoots in public locations.
