Actor R. Madhavan is finally back home with his family to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi. Taking to Instagram, he shared a candid moment with his wife, both of them smiling radiantly.

Across the picture, he wrote, “Finally home for Ganpati” with hearts and hugs, and in his caption, he kept it short and heartfelt: “Home. Finally. Ganpathy Bappa Moriya time.”

The relief on his face comes after a rather testing few days. Earlier in the week, Madhavan found himself stranded in Leh, Ladakh, after heavy rains brought air travel to a halt.

Sharing his experience on Instagram Stories, he gave followers a peek out of his hotel window — snow-dusted mountain peaks, shrouded in moody clouds.

He spoke candidly about the disruption: “End of August, and we already got snow in the mountaintops at Ladakh. I’m stuck in Leh because the airports have been shut down because of incessant rain in the last four days. Somehow, every time I come to shoot in Ladakh, that’s what happens.”

For him, it was déjà vu. Madhavan recalled facing something strikingly similar back in 2008 during the filming of 3 Idiots at Pangong Lake. “I came here last in 2008 for the 3 Idiots shoot at Pangong Lake, and we had to wait because it snowed all of a sudden in August, and now this. But still breathtakingly beautiful. I hope the sky clears up today and the planes are able to land and I can get back home,” he reminisced. He even captioned the clip with a touch of humour: “Stuck in Leh again.. (shocked face emojis) No flights. Rain after 17 years (grinning squinting face, heart exclamation and red exclamation mark emojis).”

It’s clear that, despite the frustration, Madhavan hasn’t lost his sense of wonder for Ladakh’s rugged beauty — nor his gratitude for making it home safely.
On the work front, audiences last saw him opposite Fatima Sana Shaikh in Netflix’s Aap Jaisa Koi.

Up next, he’s gearing up for Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar, which hits cinemas on 5 December. The film boasts a stellar cast including Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna and Arjun Rampal.
