Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is reportedly set to collaborate with filmmaker duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K., popularly known as Raj & DK, for an upcoming film. According to recent reports, South star Samantha Ruth Prabhu is being considered to play the female lead opposite the 60-year-old actor.
The project is said to be an unconventional superhero film that blends action with humour, a genre that would mark a fresh direction for Salman’s filmography.
Reports suggest that the story revolves around a reluctant or ageing superhero, offering a quirky take on the genre rather than the typical larger-than-life comic-book narrative.
According to a report in Mid-Day, "Samantha is very much in the conversation. She shares a strong creative equation with the makers, and they feel she fits the part."
While Salman Khan is reportedly in discussions to headline the film, Samantha has emerged as one of the frontrunners for the female lead.
The makers, however, have not yet made any official announcement regarding the casting. Sources suggest that Samantha shares a strong creative relationship with the filmmaker duo, which makes her a natural choice for the project.
Samantha previously collaborated with Raj & DK on the popular web series The Family Man Season 2, where her performance received widespread acclaim. She also worked with them again on the spy series Citadel: Honey Bunny, strengthening their professional association.
If finalised, the film would mark the first on-screen collaboration between Salman Khan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, a pairing that has already sparked curiosity among fans.
There are also reports suggesting that actress Nayanthara could be associated with the project in another key role, although the details remain under wraps.
The project is currently believed to be in the early development stage, with the script and budget still being finalised. Once everything is locked, production timelines will be decided depending on Salman Khan’s schedule.

Up next, Salman Khan will be seen in Battle of Galwan, a film inspired by the real-life events of the 2020 Galwan Valley clash. In the project, the actor is expected to portray Bikkumalla Santosh Babu, the Indian Army colonel who led his troops during the confrontation.
