Bollywood superstar Salman Khan surprised many at a recent event in Dubai when he spoke candidly about his lifestyle, saying he continues to live in a one-bedroom apartment despite decades of success in the film industry.
During an on-stage interaction at a celebrity gala, Salman said, “I still live in a 1 BHK apartment and that is ok for me.” The remark drew applause from the audience, many of whom praised the actor for his grounded outlook despite being one of India’s biggest stars.
Dressed in a grey blazer paired with a maroon T-shirt and jeans, Salman appeared relaxed as he interacted with the host. The conversation turned toward fame, wealth and the pressure to maintain a certain image. Responding with his characteristic ease, he added that comfort and familiarity matter more to him than luxury.
In another interaction reported by a Dubai-based publication, Salman was quoted as saying, “I have everything I need. A bigger house does not change who you are or how you sleep at night.” The statement echoed his earlier sentiment and reinforced his belief in keeping life simple despite extraordinary success.
Salman has long been known to reside at his family home in Mumbai, choosing continuity over extravagance. His comment in Dubai once again highlighted his preference for staying connected to his roots rather than chasing material upgrades.

Fans on social media reacted swiftly to clips from the event, calling his statement refreshing in an industry often associated with lavish lifestyles. Many described the actor as “grounded” and “real,” noting that such remarks resonate strongly in a time when celebrity culture frequently celebrates excess.
The Dubai event saw Salman engaging warmly with attendees, posing for photographs and sharing anecdotes from his career. His comment about living in a 1 BHK, however, became the most talked-about takeaway from the evening.
