Recently, renowned choreographer and director Remo D'Souza and his wife Lizelle D'Souza faced accusations of defrauding a dance troupe of Rs 11.96 crore. However, Remo D'Souza’s team issued a statement on Instagram, refuting the claims and asserting that the allegations are completely false.

Recently, renowned choreographer and director Remo D'Souza and his wife Lizelle D'Souza faced accusations of defrauding a dance troupe of Rs 11.96 crore. However, Remo D'Souza’s team issued a statement on Instagram, refuting the claims and asserting that the allegations are completely false.

Remo's team shared an announcement which stated, "This press note is released by M/S Remo D'souza Entertainment Pvt. Ltd('RDEPL') only for limited purpose of clarifying queries received related to media reports in relation to alleged fraud committed in relation to dance group(Vunbeatable). It seems at the instance of some vested interest unfortunately a wrong and false picture is being painted as if, Mr Remo D'Souza and other directors/associates of our company-rdepl are indulging in the acts of fraud and misappropriation. In this connection, we would like to say that it has come to our knowledge that an FIR has been registered at instance of one Mr Veergovindam Navrottam against the seven persons by Mira Road Police station which include RDEPL. Mr Remo D'souza and Mrs Lizelle D'Souza are directors of RDEPL."

Remo and Lizelle D'Souza previously released a joint statement expressing their disappointment over the accusations. In their message, they urged the public to refrain from spreading rumors and misinformation about the situation.

For those unversed, a case has been registered in Thane district against Remo D'Souza, his wife Lizelle, and five others for allegedly defrauding a dance troupe of Rs 11.96 crore. The complaint, filed by a 26-year-old dancer, led to the case being lodged at Mira Road police station on October 16. According to the FIR, the troupe was allegedly deceived between 2018 and July 2024. The group had won a television show, but the accused reportedly claimed the prize money by falsely presenting themselves as the troupe's owners, an official confirmed. Charges include cheating, forgery, and other related offenses under the Indian Penal Code.
