Even years after her untimely death her performances continue to stay forever in the minds of audiences. In an old interview Soundarya spoke honestly about cinema and life. In recent times, there have been a lot of instances where actors from across the industries spoke about casting couch.

One of such videos from the older times has surfaced on the internet where the actress spoke about casting couch. She said "Come to films it is not a bad world. If you are a thorough professional nothing is going to affect you. I do not have any bad experiences."

Soundarya always said that she believed how a person behaves matters more than fear or rumours. She also said "It all depends on how you behave. How you frame your life is important."

Soundarya was one of the most loved actresses in South Indian cinema. Her real name was Sowmya Sathyanarayana. She acted in Telugu Kannada Tamil Malayalam and Hindi films. She became very popular among Hindi audiences as well after acting with Amitabh Bachchan in the film Sooryavansham. The movie is still watched on television by many families.

At the peak of her career, Soundarya’s life ended suddenly. On April 17, 2004, she died in a tragic plane crash near Bengaluru. She was only 32 years old. She was travelling to campaign during the general elections and the aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff and burst into flames. Soundarya and others on board lost their lives instantly.

One of the most heartbreaking truths was that Soundarya was seven months pregnant at that time.

She had married software professional Sridhar only a few months earlier. The news shocked the entire country and left the film industry in deep sorrow.

Soundarya’s legacy remains strong. Her films are still remembered. Her performances still touch hearts. Most importantly her words continue to guide young actors and audiences alike.
