Superstar Rajinikanth has recently wished his fans, who gathered outside his home, a ‘happy new year’ in a very filmy style. The actor shared a video of the moment on his social media.

Rajinikanth shared the video on his X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, January 1, featuring a famous line from his movie "Muthu."

The actor welcomed devoted admirers who braved bad weather to show up in front of his home on Thursday, carrying on the tradition of greeting fans every year.

The actor posted a video clip from his critically acclaimed movie "Muthu" on social media. Rajinikanth is seen riding a chariot with actress Meena sitting by him in the video that the superstar posted.

In the video, Meena asks Rajini, “The route we are taking is correct, isn’t it?” To this, Rajinikanth replies, “Who knows? I never bother about the route I take. I put my burden on God and take the path my vehicle picks, chanting ‘Shiva’!”

The actor went on to write in the video, “Wishing you all a very happy new year 2026. God Bless.”

On the work front, Rajinikanth's next project is filmmaker Nelson's highly anticipated action movie "Jailer 2," which is about to be released. The actor actually celebrated his most recent birthday on December 12 while working on the movie.

The film's production company, Sun Pictures, posted a video of the cake-cutting festivities on the sets on its X timeline.

In the video, Rajinikanth was seen leaving his caravan to go to the cake-cutting location, where he was greeted by director Nelson and other members of the core unit. The actor was spotted heading back to his caravan following a quick cake-cutting ceremony in which Rajinikanth fed cake to director Nelson.

Due to the extraordinary success of the first portion of the movie, which went on to become a massive blockbuster and earn almost Rs 650 crores, Jailer 2 has generated a great deal of interest.
