The Madras High Court further clarified that once the examining committee's suggested changes are incorporated, the film's certificate will be issued automatically.
According to Live Law, while delivering the order, Justice P.T. Asha remarked, "After examining the materials, it is crystal clear that the complainant's grievance appears to be an afterthought."
For the unversed, the production house of the film, KVN Productions, approached the court with an urgent plea after the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) failed to issue the censor certificate. Notably, the Tamil action thriller Jana Nayagan marks Thalapathy Vijay’s final film before entering politics. The film was initially slated for release on Friday, January 9, 2026, but the premiere was postponed due to unavoidable circumstances.

In the statement, they wrote, "It is with a heavy heart that we share this update with our valued stakeholders and audiences. The release of Jana Nayagan, eagerly awaited on January 9, has been postponed due to unavoidable circumstances beyond our control (sic)."
