This year, director Gautham Vasudev Menon is finally getting ready to bring his long-delayed passion project Dhruva Natchathiram, to the big screen. The filmmaker, who has also been acting a lot in the past few years, has talked about the money problems he had and how taking on acting jobs, especially in Thalapathy Vijay's Leo, helped him get back on track.
Gautham Vasudev Menon recently talked openly with Galatta Plus about the hard time he had finishing Dhruva Natchathiram. The director said he decided to work on more than one project to pay off his debts because there was no outside support for the film's release.
He said that Leo, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and starring Vijay, was very important in helping him get through those hard times. "Nobody came forward to help with the release of Dhruva Natchathiram, so I decided to act in movies." Leo played a big role in making my money problems easier. He said, "The censor formalities for Dhruva Natchathiram are now done in my name. There is only a small problem left that should be fixed within a week."
About Dhruva Natchathiram
The movie is a spy action thriller called Dhruva Natchathiram: Chapter One – Yuddha Kaandam, and Chiyaan Vikram plays the main character. Gautham Vasudev Menon has also made the movie through his company, Ondraga Entertainment.
The main character is John, a very skilled secret agent who leads a special anti-terror unit called The Basement. The project has been one of Menon's most ambitious films because it has a lot of action and takes place all over the world.
A project that will take a long time to finish
Dhruva Natchathiram was first announced in 2013 with Suriya as the main character, but it was put on hold because of creative differences. In 2015, the project was brought back to life with Vikram on board, and it was set to come out in 2017. But because of ongoing money problems, there were delays after delays, even though there were many announcements about the release over the years.
The movie was supposed to come out in November 2023, but that was also pushed back. There are still some problems to be worked out, but industry buzz says the movie will come out in theatres in March 2026. An official announcement is still expected.

The cast and plans for the future
The movie has a great cast besides Vikram. Ritu Varma, Aishwarya Rajesh, Simran, R. Parthiban, Radhika Sarathkumar, Vinayakan, and others are all in it. Gautham Vasudev Menon has also said in the past that he sees Dhruva Natchathiram as the first part of a bigger series.
It looks like the filmmaker is finally ready to show Dhruva Natchathiram to audiences after more than ten years of work. The censor process is almost over, and money problems are getting better.
