Ajay Devgn and Tabu’s Drishyam 3 has been generating massive excitement ever since the third instalment was officially announced, with fans eagerly waiting to see how the gripping saga unfolds further. Adding to the buzz, a new update suggests that another prominent actor has joined the cast.
According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, veteran actor Prakash Raj has come on board for Drishyam 3. Sources reveal that he will be seen in a completely new role, marking a fresh addition to the film’s narrative.
Sharing details about his character, a source told the publication, “He’s not playing a cop. It’s a fresh, intriguing character, very different from what audiences might expect, and it significantly adds to the narrative."
Reports also suggest that shooting for the much-awaited third part is already underway. The story is said to move ahead in the present timeline, while introducing new layers, surprises, and unforeseen twists in the lives of the Salgaonkar family.
Drishyam 3 is directed and written by Abhishek Pathak and is presented by Star Studios. The film is backed by Panorama Studios and produced by Alok Jain, Ajit Andhare, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak, along with Aamil Keeyan Khan and Parveez Shaikh. The makers have locked October 2, 2026, for its theatrical release.
Revisiting the events of Drishyam (2015), Vijay Salgaonkar, played by Ajay Devgn, famously claims that his family attended a satsang in Panaji and enjoyed pav bhaji on October 2—the same day a murder shook their town. In truth, the crime was accidentally committed by his wife Nandini (Shriya Saran) and daughter Anju (Ishita Dutta), forcing Vijay to meticulously craft a flawless alibi to protect his family.
The upcoming instalment will see Tabu, Shriya Saran, and Rajat Kapoor reprising their roles. Reports further suggest that Jaideep Ahlawat is likely to join the film after Akshaye Khanna reportedly exited the project.

Meanwhile, anticipation is also high for the Malayalam version of Drishyam 3, headlined by Mohanlal, which is slated to release on April 2 this year.
There were earlier rumours about the makers planning a Drishyam 4, but director Jeethu Joseph has firmly put speculation to rest, confirming that Drishyam 3 will mark the final chapter of the franchise.
