The temple visit came after a newly restored 4K version of Rajinikanth's 1999 hit film Padayappa returned to theatres on his 75th birthday, marking his 50 years in the film industry. Reliving the film's famous moments, memorable dialogue, and characters that still have a special place in Tamil cinema, fans welcomed the re-release like a festival.
Rajinikanth celebrated his 75th birthday on the set of his upcoming film, Jailer 2. The actor was seen cutting a cake with director Nelson Dilipkumar, cinematographer Vijay Kartik Kannan, and other crew members of the film.
To celebrate Rajinikanth's birthday, fans flocked to his Chennai home on Friday. One of the admirers who was seen outside Rajinikanth's home declared her affection for the actor and listed her top picks from his oeuvre. By dressing up like the actor's well-known roles, the fans showed their affection.

The superstar is slated to wrap up the shooting of Jailer 2 sometime in December. Rajinikanth will play the role of "Tiger" Muthuvel Pandian again. He was a brave family man who became a vigilante in the 2023 hit movie Jailer.
Ramya Krishnan, who plays his wife, will also return in the sequel. Jailer 2 is likely to hit theatres in the summer of 2026.
