Big Boss Tamil 9 has set the stage for another successful chapter of one of Tamil Nadu’s most loved entertainment franchise as it opened to a record-breaking viewership on JioHotstar.
The show streaming exclusively on the platform recorded a 7,8 crore minutes of cumulative watch time with a 1.74 times higher reach than the last edition of the show. Big Boss Tamil hosted by Vijay Sethupathi, who is returning to the show for his second consecutive year the show marks a strong start to its latest run on JioHotstar.
The Fanzone and a live chat feed that is available at all times, the platform has made the experience more engaging for the audience this season, while keeping them updated on each new twist and significant moment on real time basis. The Meme the Moment on the show, which combines both popular culture with real-time participation and brings fans closer to the action than ever before, was also introduced by the platform for the first time in Tamil. It lets viewers create, share, and react to interesting moments.
Connected TV contributed nearly 47% of the opening watch time, highlighting the growing preference among Tamil audiences for immersive, large-screen family viewing experiences.
