Indian Idol Season 12 winner Pawandeep Rajan has been discharged from Fortis Hospital in Noida, marking a significant step in his recovery from a serious road accident that occurred earlier this month. The singer, who also serves as the Uttarakhand government’s brand ambassador, shared the news of his discharge and recovery via a heartwarming social media post on Friday, much to the relief of his widespread fan base.
Taking to Instagram, Pawandeep posted a picture of himself beaming, informing his followers that he was finally going home. His caption read, "Discharged and going back home. The accident, which led to Pawandeep's hospitalization, took place in the early hours of May 5. He, along with musician Ajay Mahar and driver Rahul Singh, was en route from Uttarakhand to Noida when their vehicle collided with a stationary truck on the highway. The incident occurred near the Chaupala Chauraha overbridge within the Gajraula police station area of Uttar Pradesh's Amroha district. Reports indicate that the accident was primarily caused by the driver falling asleep at the wheel.
Upon impact, Pawandeep sustained multiple fractures in both his arms and legs. He was initially rushed to a local hospital for emergency treatment before being transferred to Fortis Hospital in Noida for more specialized care. His condition was critical upon admission, necessitating immediate placement in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Over a challenging period of 25 days, Pawandeep underwent more than three surgeries, a testament to the severity of his injuries and the dedicated medical care he received, before finally being declared fit for discharge.
Pawandeep Rajan hails from the Champawat district in Uttarakhand, and his musical lineage runs deep. He comes from a family deeply rooted in music, with his father, Suresh Rajan, mother, Saroj Rajan, and sister, Jyotideep Rajan, all being celebrated Kumaoni folk artists.
