Snapshot AI
  • Parasakthi earns Rs 22.60 crore in first two days, strong start at box office
  • Film's first Monday collections remain steady, showing sustained audience interest.
  • Sunday evening shows saw 60.69% occupancy, indicating a healthy turnout.

Director Sudha Kongara’s period political action drama Parasakthi continues its steady theatrical run after an impressive opening weekend. Headlined by Sivakarthikeyan and Sreeleela, the film has managed to stay firm at the box office despite entering its first working Monday.

Parasakthi performed strongly in its first two days and earned an estimated Rs 22.60 crore India net, giving it a solid foundation right out of the gate. Released during the Pongal festive window, the film benefited from holiday footfalls and the advantage of being the only major Tamil solo release during this period. With no major competition, audience attention remained firmly on Sudha Kongara’s ambitious historical-political narrative.

On Day 3, which marked the film’s first Monday, Parasakthi collected around Rs 0.19 crore till 12 noon, according to early estimates from Sacnilk. While weekday drops are expected after a festival weekend, early Monday numbers suggest that the film has not witnessed a sharp fall, indicating decent word-of-mouth and sustained interest among moviegoers. Trade observers see this as a positive sign for a content-driven film that relies more on narrative strength than mass spectacle.

Occupancy figures from Sunday further highlight the film’s healthy theatrical presence. The overall Tamil occupancy stood at 51.06 percent, a strong number for a period political drama. Morning shows recorded 35.15 percent occupancy, which steadily increased as the day progressed. Afternoon shows saw occupancy rise to 58.03 percent, while evening shows peaked at 60.69 percent. Night shows maintained a solid 50.35 percent, indicating consistent turnout across prime hours. The trend clearly shows higher footfalls during afternoon and evening slots, suggesting family audiences and working viewers preferred later shows.

Apart from Sivakarthikeyan and Sreeleela, Parasakthi also features Dev Ramnath, Prithviraj, Guru Somasundaram, Basil Joseph, and Papadi Ghosh in key roles. The film’s historical setting, politically charged storyline, powerful dialogues, and emotional depth have struck a chord with audiences.

While it is too early to declare the final verdict, Parasakthi has clearly passed its initial box office test. If weekday collections remain stable and word-of-mouth continues to support the film, it is well-positioned to enjoy a sustained and respectable run in the coming days.
