Yeh Hai Mohabbatein actor Pankaj Bhatia recently took to his Instagram handle and posted a video revealing that he hasn't been paid his due amount for one of his shows for over a year.
In a chat with HT, Pankaj revealed that he made the video to 'make the channel aware.'
“It’s the case with about 50–60 actors as well. The whole purpose of that video was to make the channel aware and reach people who are making policies for the channel," he said.
Pankaj, who is known for doing character roles in many hit shows, said that once the show ends, the channel gives the final payment to producers, who don't clear the actor's payment but rather start work on a new project soon.
“My video isn’t about the pending payments but about the channel’s policies. They aren’t keeping a check on whether the money they are sanctioning is reaching the actors or not. The policy is that you get payment after 90 days of shooting. At the end, it’s the channel’s product, and it’s their duty to see if the people working for them are getting their dues. I am doing this for the fraternity,” said Pankaj.
Pankaj also revealed that earlier in 2011–12, the producers had to get a clearance certificate from actors before starting with their new project, which meant that the dues were cleared on time.
Pankaj Bhatia hasn't revealed the name of the show for which his payment is due and says he is still in discussion with them for the final clearance of his due amount.
“I am talking to the producers, and they have given me a date. In the last six months, even they have been stuck. They want to clear the payment, but doing that for everyone together isn’t feasible for them either. But I also have to pay my daughter’s fees. If the producers don’t stick to the date, I will have to knock the associations’ (CINTAA) door,” he added.
He had made this video at 1 a.m. to talk about his problems with no payment.
