Superman OTT Update: When and where to update James Gunn’s DC superhero film

Superman is streaming on OTT

James Gunn’s Superman (2025) enjoyed a successful run in the theatres and has now officially arrived on the OTT platform. David Corenswet has taken over the iconic cape from Henry Cavill in the latest instalment.

The highly anticipated DC reboot, Superman, is now streaming on JioHotstar from today, December 11. The film is available on the platform in multiple regional languages in India, including Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

Superman grossed $616 million at the worldwide box office. The film features an ensemble cast including Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, and Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern.

The film is directed by James Gunn and revolves around the origins of Superman, his struggle to balance his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing, and his journey to become Earth's greatest protector.

The official synopsis reads, “Superman must reconcile his alien Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as reporter Clark Kent. As the embodiment of truth, justice and the human way, he soon finds himself in a world that views these as old-fashioned.”

Following the success of Superman, James Gunn has already started crafting the next chapter in this revived universe. The filmmaker has also confirmed a sequel, titled Man of Tomorrow.

The upcoming sequel will see the return of David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult as they join forces to take on an even bigger threat. The makers have currently kept the plot details under wraps.

David Corenswet’s Superman: Man of Tomorrow is slated to hit theatres on July 9, 2027.
