Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have officially finalized their divorce, bringing an end to nearly two decades of marriage. Court records indicate that the proceedings were completed on Tuesday, January 6, in Nashville, just over three months after the couple publicly announced their separation.
Kidman and Urban were married in June 2006 and were together for 19 years before Kidman filed for divorce on September 30, citing irreconcilable differences. The settlement outlines a largely amicable resolution, with both parties agreeing to waive alimony and child support payments. According to the filing, each will also cover their own legal fees and related expenses.
The agreement places a strong emphasis on co-parenting and maintaining stability for their two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15. The children will primarily reside with Kidman, while both parents will share joint responsibility for major decisions concerning their education, health care, and overall welfare. The parenting plan also includes a non-disparagement clause, stating that neither parent will speak negatively about the other or their respective families, and that both will actively encourage the children to maintain loving, comfortable relationships with each parent.
Representatives for Kidman and Urban did not immediately respond to requests for comment from Rolling Stone, and the former couple themselves have not issued public statements following the finalization of the divorce. Over the years, they had often been viewed as one of Hollywood and music’s more enduring partnerships, frequently appearing together at award shows and industry events while keeping much of their family life private.

Professionally, both remain busy. Kidman appeared in one film last year, Holland, and also served as an executive producer on the Australian television series The Last Anniversary. She has a packed slate ahead, including the highly anticipated Practical Magic 2 and two television projects, Scarpetta and Margo’s Got Money Troubles, underscoring her continued momentum across film and streaming platforms.
Urban, meanwhile, released his latest album, High, in 2024 and spent much of the past year touring across North America. His tour concluded in mid-October, and he has since kept a relatively low public profile.
While the end of their marriage marks a significant personal shift for both stars, the terms of the settlement suggest a mutual focus on privacy, respect, and co-parenting as they move forward separately.
