Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday’s upcoming romantic comedy ‘Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri’ is already facing an uphill task, and its latest musical move has only added fuel to the fire. The makers’ decision to recreate the iconic Saat Samundar Paar from Vishwatma (1992) has not gone down well with netizens, many of whom have slammed the remix as unnecessary and poorly executed.
With big-ticket releases like Dhurandhar and Avatar: Fire and Ash dominating conversations, the on-ground buzz around Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri has remained muted.

The trailer failed to generate strong excitement, and now Saat Samundar Paar 2.0 appears to have struck the wrong chord altogether.
On Monday, the makers dropped the new version of the cult Vishwatma track, originally picturised on late Divya Bharti and Sunny Deol. In the recreated version, Kartik Aaryan is seen dancing with a group of men in a pre-wedding celebration setup, trying to impress Ananya Panday.
However, fans of the original song were quick to point out that the new rendition feels slower, toned down, and stripped of the raw energy that made the original a party anthem.
Social media reaction was swift and largely unforgiving.
The video was shared on Instagram, but the comments section quickly turned into a wall of criticism. One netizen bluntly wrote, “Yeh kya bawaseer hai.” Another commented, “Wah..aaa thuu poore mood kharaab kar diya.” A third user took a dig at the remake culture, saying, “Another old gem ruined by Bollywood.”
Some comments were even harsher in tone. “Energy choos daali achche khaase gaane ki,” read one reaction, while another wrote, “Kyu why gaana barbaad kar diya?” Comparing it unfavourably with other remixes, a netizen quipped, “Ise acha toh main Neha Kakkar ka Lolipop sun loon.” One particularly angry comment read, “Maa bahen kar diya gaane ki,” capturing the frustration many viewers seemed to feel.
For many, Saat Samundar Paar is not just another hit track but a nostalgic memory tied to a specific era, sound, and emotion. Any attempt to recreate it, especially without adding something fresh or impactful, is bound to invite scrutiny.
Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri is directed by Sameer Vidwans, marking his second collaboration with Kartik Aaryan after Satyaprem Ki Katha. The film is produced by Dharma Productions and also stars Neena Gupta, Jackie Shroff, and Tiku Talsania in supporting roles.
Whether the film manages to recover from the negative buzz remains to be seen. For now, Saat Samundar Paar 2.0 has become a reminder that nostalgia, when mishandled, can quickly turn into outrage rather than applause.
