Singer-composer Vishal Dadlani has reacted to the recent buzz around Arijit Singh stepping away from playback singing, expressing his support for the celebrated singer and his decision to explore music on his own terms.

Speaking on the podcast Untriggered with AminJaz, Vishal praised Arijit’s talent and dedication to music. Vishal said, “Do what makes you happy, man. He has put out some kind of explanation on it. Jo bhi hain, tere dil ka hain, tu kar. Music is an ocean that exists with or without any of us. So cheers! The guy, musically speaking, is a genius. There is no question. Explore, that is what life is for.”

Vishal further added that music is a constantly evolving space and every artist eventually reaches a point where they want to explore different forms of expression.

He added, “Guessing is not my game. As far as I am concerned, I am on his side. Whatever he wants to do is fine. I love that guy. He is a good guy. Genuine good human being. Good heart, good mind, great music! Do whatever you want.”

Arijit, widely regarded as one of the most influential voices in contemporary Bollywood music, recently revealed that he plans to step back from playback singing assignments. The news sparked widespread discussion among fans and within the music industry. Responding to the development, Vishal shared that he stands by Arijit and respects whatever path the singer chooses for his career.

Arijit later clarified that while he intends to step away from playback singing commitments for films, he is not quitting music altogether. The singer plans to continue composing, creating and releasing independent music projects, giving him greater creative control over his work.
