Mardaani 3 continues to hold steady at the box office, showing clear growth on its first Sunday. Directed by Abhiraj Minawala, the action-crime thriller stars Rani Mukerji in her much-loved role as ACP Shivani Shivaji Roy, and early signs suggest the film has struck a chord with audiences.

According to industry tracker website, the film collected Rs 7.25 crore on Day 3, marking a healthy jump compared to its earlier days.

With this, Mardaani 3 has wrapped up its opening weekend with a total collection of Rs 17.50 crore. For a gritty, adult-themed crime thriller, these numbers point to strong word-of-mouth and sustained audience interest.

Occupancy figures further underline the film’s positive momentum. On February 1, the Hindi version recorded an overall occupancy of 33.29 percent. Evening shows led the way with 49.80 percent occupancy, followed by afternoon shows at 37.04 percent. Night shows registered 33.10 percent, while morning shows stood at 13.23 percent. The pattern suggests that audiences are increasingly opting for prime-time slots, a good sign for collections in the coming days.

Region-wise, the film performed particularly well in urban centres. Pune reported the highest occupancy at 45 percent, followed closely by Mumbai at 42.25 percent. Kolkata recorded 38.75 percent, while Bhopal stood at 38.25 percent. These figures indicate that Mardaani 3 is finding solid traction across multiple key markets.

Speaking about returning to the uniform for the third time, Rani Mukerji recently opened up about the emotional weight of portraying a police officer. “I think it’s a huge privilege and a huge honour for me to be playing one of them, a woman in uniform,” she told IANS, adding that the real-life struggles and challenges faced by women officers make their stories extraordinary.

The film also features Janki Bodiwala as constable Fatima Anwar, Prajesh Kashyap as Ramanujan, and Mallika Prasad Sinha as the chilling antagonist Amma. Jisshu Sengupta appears as Dr Bikram Roy, with Indraneel Bhattacharya and Mikhail Yawalkar in key supporting roles.

Produced by Yash Raj Films, Mardaani 3 boasts cinematography by Artur Żurawski, music by John Stewart Eduri, and editing by Yasha Ramchandani. With positive reviews and rising collections, the film appears well-placed to maintain its upward box office trend in the days ahead.
