The air at Mahalaxmi Racecourse buzzed with anticipation as Lollapalooza India 2026 kicked off today, welcoming tens of thousands of fans into a world where music, art, and culture collide.
Day 1 unfolded like a vibrant tapestry of sound and emotion, where genres blended seamlessly and the energy never wavered.
For the third consecutive year, BookMyShow Live, the experiential live entertainment arm of India’s leading entertainment destination, BookMyShow, joined hands with global producers Perry Farrell and C3 Presents to bring this legendary festival to Indian shores.
The result was an immersive celebration that had everyone—from die-hard music lovers to curious first-timers—dancing, singing, and discovering new favourites.
Hip-hop sensation Jordan Terrell Carter, known globally as Playboi Carti, led the charge with his first major performance in India. Joined by Destroy Lonely and the Homixide Gang, his set—including hits like ‘FE!N!’, ‘Pop Out’, ‘Timeless’ and ‘If Looks Could Kill’—turned the main stage into a pulsating sea of movement and energy.
British provocateur Dominic Richard Harrison, better known as YUNGBLUD, followed with an electrifying performance, bringing tracks like ‘Zombie’ and ‘Hello Heaven’ to life. Japanese sensation Fujii Kaze offered a tender, piano-driven respite with ‘Shinunoga E-Wa’, leaving the crowd mesmerised and emotional.
Electronic maestro Knock2 had fans bouncing with his festival-edited beats, while synth-pop favourites The Midnight wrapped the night in neon-lit nostalgia with ‘Sunset’ and ‘Los Angeles’.
Canadian alternative icons Mother Mother sparked mass singalongs to ‘Hayloft’, and UK acts Hamdi and Hot Milk injected energy with ‘Push’ and ‘Breathing Underwater’.
Indian talent shone brightly, too. Ankur Tewari & The Ghalat Family performed ‘Gehraiyaan’, MU540 ignited the dance arena with ‘USD, e USD’, and Gauley Bhai won hearts with ‘Sanglanga Dooby’. Rising stars Zoya, Pho, Still in Therapy, Nate08, Rounak Maiti, Sijya, and Sunflower Tape Machine kept the spirit of discovery alive throughout the day.
Food lovers found their own moments of joy at the Lolla Food Park, home to over 70 carefully curated brands.
Crowd favourites included Bheja Roll by Bademiya, Strawberries and Cream by Bachelors, Lolla Lava Noodles by Bang Bang Noodles, and Pushpa Pizza by Bad Boy Pizza, proving that festival dining could be as memorable as the music.

From towering inflatables and Perry Farrell’s iconic Shaman to the kinetic Lolla Garden and Lolla Buddies photo zones, the venue itself felt alive. Merchandise booths buzzed as fans picked up lineup tees, hoodies, bucket hats, and picnic mats inspired by aliens, freaks, and dreamers.
Inclusivity and sustainability were at the heart of the festival, with EVs for internal movement, accessibility decks, trained PWD teams, and Tag Your Kid safety support. Metro, train, and Cityflo connectivity made getting there seamless.
As night descended, fans whispered the same thought: if Day 1 was this electrifying, Day 2, featuring LinkIn Park’s Mumbai debut, promised to be unforgettable.
