Dhanush starrer Kuberaa recently hit the theatres and is enjoying a successful run at the box office. The film has grossed around Rs 48.50 crore and has received positive reviews from the audience and the critics alike.

The film’s makers recently threw a success party for the film, attended by the cast members Dhanush, Nagarjuna, filmmaker Sekhar Kammula, among others. Megastar Chiranjeevi was the chief guest of the event.

During the event, Dhanush praised the filmmaker Sekhar and suggested that he had changed the myth that only action spectacles could bring the audience to the theatres.

Dhanush said, “Slowly, slowly theatrical run is becoming a question mark, you know, to bring audience to theatre, you feel and people are under the impression, there is a myth that is being developed that you need an action spectacle, big film, big choppers flying everywhere, bombs blasting, blood everywhere, that's the kind of like you need people to come to the theatres.”

He elaborated that a myth has been slowly developed, suggesting that only big-budget films, filled with action sequences and drama, can pull the audience to the theatres.
The actor further noted, "but you have given hope sir, you have given hope to so many filmmakers and for a theatrical run that with heart, just heart, you can bring people to the theatres.”

Dhanush elaborated, “Emotion is the biggest grandeur, that is the most grandeur, like what more can be bigger than human emotion, I don't think anything is bigger than human emotion, like these films like this should happen to give hope to future filmmakers also, filmmakers like the next generation.”

The actor further suggested that the up-and-coming filmmakers “should not think like big films, big sets, CG, super human, super hero, no, super human,” are the only essentials to attract the audience.

He suggested that instead the filmmakers should think that “human drama will work, it is a very important film sir, not because I am in it, not at all, it's not coming from that place at all, so in that way I think there are lot of filmmakers and lot of… lot of people in general are going to be very thankful to you, you have pulled off this miracle in these times.”

Kuberaa was released in the theatres on June 20 and revolves around a beggar who undergoes a dramatic transformation. The film explores themes of greed, ambition, and moral dilemmas faced by the characters, leading to a quest for redemption.
