According to The Korea Times, the agency’s statement reads, “Through deep conversations about each member’s vision for the future and the team’s direction, we confirmed that Heeseung has a clear musical path he wishes to pursue. After careful consideration, we decided to respect his aspirations.”

The 24-year-old singer will leave the group, according to the HYBE Labels subsidiary, and ENHYPEN will carry on with its future promotional schedule as a six-piece act.

The agency added, “Although it is difficult to explain every detail in a short statement, we want to emphasize that this decision was made after a long period of deliberation.”

They added, “We understand that this news may be difficult for fans to accept, but we hope you will understand that it was made with the future of both ENHYPEN and Heeseung in mind.”

Belift Lab further stated that ENHYPEN would keep giving supporters, referred to as ENGENE, powerful performances and energy. Heeseung intends to put out a solo album and will continue to work under Belift Lab.

Heeseung made his ENHYPEN debut following an appearance on the survival audition show I-LAND in November 2020. BORDER: DAY ONE, the group's debut album, marked their entry into the K-pop world.
