Jurassic World: Rebirth has smashed its way into Indian cinemas, raking in an impressive Rs 38.2 crore net in its opening weekend.
Released on Friday, the film earned a steady Rs 9 crore on day one, surged to Rs 13.5 crore on Saturday, and closed the weekend with a whopping Rs 15.7 crore on Sunday, according to Sacnilk estimates.
With a three-day total gross of about Rs 47 crore (roughly USD 5.5 million), it exceeded the opening weekend earnings of its predecessor, Jurassic World: Dominion, which brought in Rs 44 crore in India.
Strong brand recall and good word-of-mouth have maintained steady attendance, despite early box office reviews that were both mixed and positive. With Rs 18.5 crore, the English version was the most popular in India's four major language markets.
The Hindi-dubbed version came in second with Rs 13.5 crore, and the Tamil and Telugu releases combined brought in Rs 6.2 crore. A strong domestic launch was made possible by this broad linguistic distribution.
Even though the preliminary numbers are encouraging, all eyes will now be on the movie's performance during the week. Despite fierce competition, Rebirth has shown consistent audience interest as the summer lineup for 2025 takes shape.
Jurassic World: Rebirth, which was directed by Gareth Edwards, stars Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Ed Skrein, and Luna Blaise. It carries on the exciting tradition of dinosaur-filled adventures left by the franchise.

Johansson has also achieved a noteworthy milestone as a result of the successful premiere. With Jurassic World: Rebirth contributing more than USD $300 million to her total box office earnings this weekend, she has surpassed Samuel L. Jackson, her co-star in the Avengers, to become the highest-grossing actress globally, surpassing USD $15 billion in career earnings.
She also surpassed actresses Zoe Saldana ($15.55 billion), Helena Bonham Carter ($9.83 billion), Emma Watson ($9.89 billion), and Cate Blanchett ($10.64 billion).
