Host Jimmy Kimmel did not hold back while responding to US President Donald Trump’s criticism of Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl LX halftime performance, delivering a blistering monologue on Monday night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live.
The controversy began after Donald Trump posted a lengthy rant on his Truth Social platform, slamming Bad Bunny’s performance as “absolutely terrible” and calling it “a slap in the face” to America.
He also objected to the performance being largely in Spanish, arguing that it failed to reflect American “standards of success, creativity, or excellence.”
Jimmy Kimmel addressed the comments head-on during his opening monologue, setting the tone with a sharp one-liner. “Bad Bunny got a bad review from our bad president, unfortunately,” the host said, drawing laughter from the audience.
He then proceeded to read Trump’s post aloud, quoting it in full: “‘The Super Bowl halftime show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst ever. It makes no sense. It’s an affront to the greatness of America and doesn’t represent our standards of success, creativity, or excellence. Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the USA and around the world.’”
After finishing the quote, Kimmel delivered the punchline that became the highlight of the segment. “This is a man who paid off a p**n star who spanked him with his own face on a magazine,” he said, sending the studio crowd into loud applause and laughter.

Kimmel didn’t stop there. He also took aim at Turning Point USA and its rival broadcast, the All-American Halftime Show, which aired as a conservative alternative. Mocking the concept, he joked that they should have included a segment called “Kristi Noem shoots her puppy bowl,” before dismissing the entire production as underwhelming.
Expanding his critique, Kimmel said, “(Conservatives) complain about how bad everything is, and then they do it worse. And not only do they do it worse, they do it in jorts.” He added that while the show failed to impress him, “Of course, the gang at Fox News thought it was great, and Turning Point, they seemed happy with it too.”
Later in the show, a TPUSA representative appeared to discuss plans for another alternative halftime show next year. Reacting to that idea, Kimmel joked that it might feature Lara Trump fronting a Ted Nugent cover band. “They’ll do it for the country,” he added sarcastically.
The segment quickly went viral, with Kimmel’s roast resonating widely as yet another example of late-night television skewering political outrage with pointed humor.
