It’s been 15 years since Elliot Page starred in Christopher Nolan’s Inception, and now the actor is opening up about the excitement of working with Nolan again on his upcoming historical epic, The Odyssey, set to hit cinemas in July 2026.
“I was so excited to be thought of for [‘The Odyssey’] and to be asked to come back to work with him,” Page said during the X-Men: Days of Future Past panel at this year’s New York City Comic Con.
Reflecting on his previous experience, he added, “I loved working with him on ‘Inception’ and loved being a part of that movie. I was just completely jazzed and excited, and [I] basically went and met with Chris and talked about the part, then sat in a room and read the script. It was such a joy to come back.”
Page also spoke about how coming back to work with Nolan feels different this time around. “To come back now, as you can imagine, being more comfortable in yourself makes these sorts of projects more enjoyable,” he said. “To get to have a Chris Nolan experience again now meant so much to me selfishly.”
The panel was hosted by Josh Horowitz, known for his Happy Sad Confused podcast, and also featured James McAvoy, who played Charles Xavier in the X-Men series from 2011 to 2019. When asked about the possibility of the franchise reboot, which fans have imagined with actors like Colman Domingo and Bella Ramsey, McAvoy was clearly enthusiastic about the future.
“Look, I’m [just] excited to see what happens next,” McAvoy said. “I was a fan before I was an employee. and I’ll be a fan again. Colman Domingo sounds amazing.”

It was a fascinating moment, showing just how much these stories and collaborations still mean to those involved. For Elliot Page, reuniting with Nolan isn’t just another role — it’s a special opportunity that feels more meaningful now than ever. Meanwhile, McAvoy’s excitement about the X-Men reboot reflects the hopes of many fans eager to see the franchise reinvent itself with a fresh cast while honouring its past.
With The Odyssey on the horizon and talk of a new X-Men chapter underway, it’s clear that both Page and McAvoy are ready to dive back into worlds they’ve helped bring to life — and fans couldn’t be more thrilled.
