December 15 this year marks a significant milestone in movie history, as it has been exactly 30 years since audiences were first introduced to the magical yet perilous world of Jumanji.

While fans around the globe celebrate the anniversary, two places feel the magic most acutely: the quiet town of Keene, New Hampshire, and the bustling Hollywood set of the upcoming Jumanji sequel.

As filming continues for the next chapter of the beloved franchise, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson took a moment to share a heartfelt message with his fans. Standing on set, Johnson admitted he had "chills" reflecting on the 30-year journey that began with Robin Williams in 1995.

For Johnson, the connection goes beyond business; it stems from his deep respect for the "GOAT," Robin Williams.

He recounted his favourite moment from the original film: the intense confrontation where the villain Van Pelt asks Robin’s character, Alan Parrish, if he is afraid. Johnson recalled, "Robin says, ‘I’m terrified, but my father always told me to face my fears.’ And then Van Pelt cocks that gun and says, ‘Any last words?’ and Robin says, ‘Jumanji.’ What’s so cool is you see the dice begin to roll."

Dwayne added, "As many of you know, as my ode to Robin, the man, the OG, the GOAT, one of my favourite actors ever—I had the opportunity to meet him one time and give him a big hug. As an ode, out of respect to Robin and the original Jumanji, I have the original dice. Right here. To Robin, to that entire crew of Jumanji, 30 years ago today, we love you, we thank you."

Sony Pictures Entertainment India is set to release Jumanji 4: The Final Level in India in December 2026. Directed by Jake Kasdan, the latest instalment will bring back the franchise’s core four—Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan—alongside Nick Jonas, Bebe Neuwirth, and newcomer Brittany O’Grady.
