Former WWE wrestler Saurav Gurjar has voiced his discontent over the jokes made by comedian Kapil Sharma on The Kapil Sharma Show. The controversy revolves around an episode where Kapil Sharma poked fun at Saurav using a picture of him alongside Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor.

In a recent podcast hosted by the YouTube channel The Rich, Saurav alleged that Kapil's jokes were misleading and based on fabricated fan comments. He particularly took issue with the way his image was used during the segment Post Ka Postmortem, where Kapil reads and comments on social media posts by celebrities.

During the segment in question, Kapil Sharma showcased a picture of Saurav with Ranbir Kapoor and read out a comment that supposedly came from a fan. The comment read, “Lagta hai, Ranbir ne nayi gaadi li hai B M BABLU" (It seems Ranbir has bought a new car, BM Bablu). Kapil then proceeded to make a joke about the comment, implying that Saurav was referred to as "BM Bablu," which seemed to mock his personality and physical appearance.

Recalling the episode, Saurav said in Hindi, “We all believe that the comments Kapil reads out in the picture segment are true and real... But that is not the case. There was a picture of me and Ranbir... He read the B M BABLU comment, and made a joke about my personality. When I got to know about it, I didn’t like that.”

Saurav further explained that he went back to the picture to check for the comment and couldn’t find it. He mentioned that when he called out Kapil’s team for the misleading comment, they began writing the comments themselves, but the timestamps revealed their fabrication. “I didn’t like the whole thing and using fake comments just for laughs,” he added.

The episode in question featured Ranbir Kapoor and comedian Anubhav Singh Bassi, who appeared on the show to promote the film Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar. The episode was part of The Kapil Sharma Show Season 2, which aired in March 2023. Since Ranbir Kapoor does not have an Instagram account, Kapil sourced images of him from various accounts. Kapil initially asked Ranbir if Saurav Gurjar was his trainer, to which Ranbir clarified that Saurav was his co-star. The picture showed Saurav lifting Ranbir onto his back, which was the basis for Kapil's joke.

This is not the first time Saurav has voiced his displeasure over the incident. Back in March, Saurav took to social media to criticise Kapil Sharma, saying, "Aap ache insaan hain @KapilSharmaK9 Logon ko hasate hain lekin aap aur aapki team ne yeh jhoothe comments dikhaye hain... This is not acceptable” (You are a good person @KapilSharmaK9 You make people laugh but how can you and your team show these false comments on someone's social media. This is not acceptable).
