A Chinese influencer has landed in the middle of an unexpected storm after her appearance at a Rosé pop-up event created widespread confusion and anger among BLACKPINK fans. The influencer, known online as Daisy, attended the official Rosé pop-up store in China earlier this month.
What should have been a routine closing-day appearance quickly escalated into controversy when videos showed her signing merchandise while dressed in an outfit uncannily similar to Rosé’s signature style.
The issue began when the event host introduced Daisy in a manner that made attendees think she was the guest of honor.
The pop-up and photo zones were built to celebrate Rosé’s projects and official merchandise, so fans were startled to see someone who looked strikingly similar to the K-pop star posing for photos, greeting crowds, and signing items that were meant to be official Rosé collectibles.
In clips circulated across Chinese and Korean online communities, Daisy is seen waving enthusiastically at the crowd, wearing blonde hair, a black-and-white outfit styled close to Rosé’s fashion choices, and interacting with fans who appeared unsure of who she was. The real flashpoint came when she began signing official Rosé merchandise, a moment that many fans felt crossed a line from cosplay into impersonation.

Fans online criticised both the influencer and the event organisers. Some argued Daisy’s look and mannerisms were designed to imitate Rosé, calling it misleading and disrespectful. Others questioned the organisers for allowing an invited guest to overshadow the artist the pop-up was created for. Comments described the moment as “stealing the spotlight” and “confusing attendees who paid to experience something linked to Rosé, not a look-alike.”
Facing intense backlash, Daisy released a statement to clarify her side of the story. She said she was invited by the mall hosting the pop-up and claimed all her actions, including the meet-and-greet and signing sessions, were arranged with the organisers. She added that she was not paid for the appearance and insisted her only goal was to help promote Rosé and the pop-up event. Daisy acknowledged that her actions may have been misunderstood and said she would reflect on the criticism and be more cautious moving forward.
The situation has now sparked a larger conversation about boundaries between cosplay, influencer marketing, and impersonation—especially when dealing with global stars whose identities carry immense commercial and cultural weight.
