‘Nothing worked’: CEO says switch to bottled mineral water improved focus, gut health after Bengaluru move

The chief executive of agritech firm BharatAgri, Siddharth Dialani, has shared a personal account of how his ability to concentrate and maintain productivity appeared to decline after relocating to Bengaluru, prompting him to experiment with lifestyle changes before attributing improvements to a shift in drinking water.

Dialani, who moved from Mumbai to Bengaluru between 2016 and 2017 and settled in the Koramangala area, said he began to notice changes in his day-to-day functioning after the move. According to him, the impact extended beyond work performance to his general wellbeing.

“When I shifted to Koramangala, Bangalore, I observed a visible decline in my ability to function at work. I couldn't do deep work, focus or handle stress,” he said, describing the period after his relocation.

He added that the changes were not limited to productivity alone. “I also observed that I wasn't enjoying my meals as much,” he noted.

In response, Dialani said he attempted a range of adjustments in an effort to address the issue. These included reducing his intake of coffee, removing milk from his diet, increasing physical activity, and ensuring greater exposure to sunlight. However, he said none of these interventions appeared to make a meaningful difference.

“Tried many things - reduced coffee, eliminated milk from diet, increased workout, sun exposure, etc. Nothing worked,” he said.

"I did consult a doctor as well, got full blood test done to check Vitamin or other deficiencies. Took the supplements, but that didn't help for this specific problem," Dialani continued.

The turning point, he explained, came during a work-related stay at a hotel, where he consumed only bottled water. He said the change coincided with an immediate improvement in how he felt.

“Then, spent some time for a work event at a hotel where I consumed only Bisleri water. And found myself to be very energetic. Gut and mental health felt better,” he said.

Following that experience, Dialani said he made a long-term change to his daily routine. “It has been 4 years since that event and I have been consuming only Bisleri water. The 20L cans are quite affordable,” he added, indicating that he has continued the practice consistently.

His remarks, shared publicly, drew attention online, with some users questioning whether the post amounted to promotional content. Dialani dismissed such suggestions in the comments, responding with humour.

“Petition to Bisleri to please pay me for this marketing,” he wrote.

Dialani's post was actually a reply to a remark by a user @GabbarSingh on X. "Completely shifted to Bottled mineral water. Marked improvement in Gut health. No change in any other diet."
