Dolly Singh is stepping into an exciting new phase of her career. The popular content creator has joined Sanjay Mishra and Rajesh Tailang in the upcoming film Arjun Bewakoof, a community-driven project directed by Andaman-based filmmaker Smita Singh and written by Anand Raaj.
The film, which is set to begin shooting in mid-March, is already being described as a “people’s film” — one that hopes to build a genuine audience connection even before it reaches cinemas.
For Dolly Singh, the decision to sign on was an emotional one. “It was primarily the story, it’s fresh yet deeply nostalgic, reminding me of the kind of cinema I truly miss,” she shared. The actor, who first found fame through digital sketches and relatable characters, seems eager to be part of storytelling that feels intimate and rooted.
Working alongside Sanjay Mishra is something Dolly Singh describes as nothing short of surreal. “I’ve been a huge admirer of him—not just as a phenomenal actor, but as a person. There’s something incredibly special about him; the way he speaks, the way he tells stories, and the simplicity he carries remind me of my childhood and the kind of people I grew up around. It feels almost magical, and in many ways, he’s a towering figure for me. The thought of acting alongside him is surreal. Of course, I hope I do justice to our scenes together, but above all, I’m deeply excited and grateful. It truly feels like a dream come true, and I can’t believe it’s happening so soon.”

What also convinced Dolly Singh was the heart behind the project. She explained, “I was also drawn to the team’s vision of making it a genuine people’s film, rooted in the Indian hinterland and closely connected to the lives of ordinary people.
Their commitment to involving locals from the story’s inception, staying on location for months to understand the place and its culture, and paying attention to every detail—even while working within the constraints of an independent film budget—really stood out to me.”
