In a bold and groundbreaking move, the makers of CID, India’s longest-running investigative drama, are all set to air their first-ever silent episode, where actors will forgo all dialogues and rely solely on expressions, gestures, and cinematic cues to solve the case. The episode, titled The Silent Den, will premiere on Sunday, April 27 at 10 PM on Sony TV.

The storyline unfolds inside a high-tech escape room where a seemingly joyous birthday party takes a dark and dangerous twist. With no spoken words, the CID team—led by Dayanand Shetty (Daya) and Aditya Srivastava (Abhijeet)—must decode the mystery using surveillance footage, forensic clues, and unspoken communication.

Dayanand Shetty, known for his iconic line “Daya, darwaza tod do!”, opened about the unusual challenge. “Shooting a silent episode was both challenging and creatively fulfilling,” he shared. “We had to depend entirely on our body language and expressions to convey the tension and urgency. It was powerful, and honestly, it pushed me out of my comfort zone.”
He also expressed that this unique format would emotionally resonate with long-time fans. “As someone who's been part of CID's journey from the beginning, I can say this episode carries an emotional weight that will hit home for our long-time fans.”

Aditya Srivastava echoed the sentiment, saying, “Storytelling lies in the ability to evoke emotion without relying on words. And this Sunday’s silent episode of CID pushes that belief to its absolute limit. It’s a completely new experience for us as actors and for the audience.”

This silent experiment comes at a time when the show is in the spotlight with major cast changes, including Shivaji Satam’s exit and Parth Samthaan’s entry. Yet again, CID proves that it's not afraid to evolve and innovate.

CID continues to air every Saturday and Sunday at 10 PM on Sony TV, with promises of more thrilling and unexpected turns to come.
