Yash has reportedly ‘no fear of competition’ from Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge, loved the first film – Source

Reports of a rivalry between Yash’s Toxic and Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge have been dismissed by insiders. Sources say Yash has no fear of competition and actually enjoyed the first Dhurandhar film, while the postponement of Toxic was due to external factors rather than box-office pressure.

  • "Toxic" delayed to June 2026, not due to "Dhurandhar 2" rivalry
  • No box-office rivalry between Yash and Ranveer films, say insiders
  • Toxic's delay due to Gulf conflict, not Dhurandhar sequel concerns

Speculations around a box-office rivalry between Yash’s upcoming film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups and Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge has been making headlines in recent weeks. However, insiders close to the production have dismissed claims of any rivalry, stating that Yash has no fear of competition from the Hindi action sequel.

Both films were initially scheduled to release on March 19, 2026, which led to widespread chatter about a major box-office clash between the two big-budget projects.

The conversation intensified when the makers of Toxic decided to postpone the film’s release to June 4, 2026, prompting speculation that the move was made to avoid competing with Dhurandhar: The Revenge.

However, sources close to the team clarified that the delay had nothing to do with competition. As per reports by Bollywood Hungama, Yash is looking forward to Dhurandhar 2.

“Yash loved Dhurandhar and is looking forward to Part 2. All the rivalry, anxiety and competitiveness is created by outsiders desirous of juicing the so-called competition between the two films,” the source said.

The report states that the assumption regarding Toxic delaying its release because of concerns about rivalry with Dhurandhar 2 is mistaken.

“Now, Toxic has moved forward not for fear of competition. But for the escalated war situation in the Gulf and UAE, which Dhurandhar 2 needn’t fear at all. Part 2 will be banned in Muslim countries just like Part 1 was,” the source added.

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic is a period gangster action drama featuring Yash in the lead role alongside Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, and Tara Sutaria. The film has already generated huge buzz online, with its teaser gaining millions of views within hours of release.

Meanwhile, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, directed by Aditya Dhar, continues the story of the blockbuster action thriller Dhurandhar. The sequel features Ranveer Singh alongside a star-studded ensemble including Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, and Arjun Rampal.
