For Dhurandhar actress, Sara Arjun, cinema has never been a new or unfamiliar space. Having stepped in front of the camera at a very young age, the actor has quite literally grown up with films — and today, she is being widely praised for her performance in the action spy thriller.
The success of the film has brought renewed attention not just to her work, but also to the journey that shaped her as an actor.
Many viewers still remember Sara Arjun as Nila, the young daughter of Vikram’s character in Deiva Thirumagal. The emotional depth she brought to the role left a lasting impact, and behind the scenes, she formed a close bond with Anushka Shetty, who played a key role as a lawyer in the film.
Sara Arjun often referred to Anushka Shetty as her ‘didi’ (elder sister), a relationship that fans are revisiting fondly after a throwback video recently resurfaced online.
Following the OTT release of Dhurandhar, the old clip of Sara Arjun speaking to IndiaGlitz began circulating on X, quickly winning hearts.
In the video, a young Sara spoke with innocence and warmth about how Anushka Shetty looked after her on set. “She is amazing, and good to me. She was taking care of my food and always told me, ‘You should good things. Not bad things. Don’t eat junk food!' Then I said, ‘Okay I will not eat!’” she said, smiling.

She went on to add, “You can see I am very slim and she told me you should be some fat! I said I want to be slimmer! Anushka didi is also very sweet and good and sweet and good!”
The clip struck an emotional chord with fans, who flooded social media with red heart emoticons and nostalgic comments. Many pointed out how endearing Sara Arjun looked as a child actor, while others praised Anushka Shetty for her gentle, caring nature.
Beyond Deiva Thirumagal, Sara Arjun appeared in several well-known films as a child artist, including Ek Thi Daayan, Jai Ho, Chithirayil Nilachoru and Saivam. Each role added a new layer to her growing experience in cinema.
In Dhurandhar, Sara Arjun plays Yalina, a character who marries Ranveer Singh’s Hamza and becomes crucial to the film’s emotional turning point in the latter half.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film released on 5 December last year and went on to dominate the box office. Grossing over ₹1300 crore worldwide, Dhurandhar became the highest-grossing film of 2025.
With a sequel slated for release in March 2026, Sara Arjun’s journey continues.
