Dhurandhar actress Sara Arjun has revealed an emotional moment that became one of the most euphoric days of her life, which was watching her parents weep with joy after seeing her performance in the blockbuster film.

Sara, who stars opposite Ranveer Singh as Yalina Jamali in the high-octane spy thriller, spoke about her family’s reaction during a recent interview with TV presenter Suma Kanakala.  Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar, has dominated conversations since its theatrical release last month. Dhurandhar has now started streaming on Netflix from today (January 30).

Critics and audiences alike have praised the film for its gripping narrative, intense action and powerful performances from its ensemble cast, which includes Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal and Rakesh Bedi.

Sara revealed that there was a particular day shortly after the release when both her mother, Sanya Arjun, and father, Raj Arjun, were moved to tears — not out of sadness, but pure pride and happiness at her work.

Sara replied, “There was a day when both my parents were crying tears of joy because of something I did. So that’s my most euphoric day ever. It meant a lot to me.” Sara went on to add, “Yeah, tears of joy. Like it meant a lot to me, that day.” When asked if she was talking about Dhurandhar, she smiled and confirmed that she was.

Opening up about her journey in films, Sara shared, “After Ponniyin Selvan, I went to boarding school, and then my initial plan was to go abroad to study film and acting. But then while I was giving my boards, I signed Magic. And then right after I came out again I was sticking to my plan. But when Euphoria came to me it was so tempting to do. As a human I felt this urge to be a part of a story like this. After PS2 it was Magic, then Euphoria and then Dhurandhar. In fact, I signed Dhurandhar while shooting for Euphoria.”

The film marked a significant milestone in Sara’s career as her first major role in a Hindi action thriller alongside one of Bollywood’s biggest stars. Fans have lauded her for delivering a mature and nuanced performance well beyond her years, contributing to the film’s massive success both commercially and critically.
