The viral impact of Dhurandhar’s catchy track “Fa9la” has not only taken over social media feeds and cinemas alike but has also propelled Bahraini rapper-producer Flipperachi into the spotlight — and now the singer is hinting at a deeper connection with the Dhurandhar franchise, including Dhurandhar 2.
Originally released as a standalone track by Hussam Aseem, popularly known as Flipperachi, Fa9la gained explosive traction after it was featured in the Ranveer Singh-led Dhurandhar — particularly in the iconic scene introducing Akshaye Khanna’s character. The Arabic-hip-hop hybrid quickly became a soundtrack sensation, inspiring countless dance videos, memes and repeat streams across platforms such as Instagram and Spotify.
In an exclusive chat with India Today, Flipperachi said, “To be honest, it's crazy. My DMs are blowing up every single day. I cannot keep up with the people that are just tagging me for the song and enjoying and vibing with it. So it's been a crazy, crazy time.”
When asked if he’s also contributing to Dhurandhar 2, slated for release next year, he said, “I was going to keep it a surprise, but I guess there's something. I wouldn't want to tell you everything about it, but yeah, there might be something, yes,” he shared with a broad smile.
He also told how the deal with Aditya Dhar’s film happened. “They were looking for a song for Akshaye’s entrance, him as a villain. So when they heard the song, the strings in it, the dark strings, so they said the song was perfect for the entrance. The call came in, the decision was instant, and we just thought let’s go with it.”
The global success of Dhurandhar — which has already crossed ₹1,200 crore at the box office — has only amplified Fa9la’s reach. Beyond social-media virality, the track has also climbed streaming charts, topping Spotify’s Viral 50 India list and spreading beyond Bollywood fan circles into broader pop culture.
