The runaway popularity of the song FA9LA has added an unexpected global flavour to Dhurandhar, even as the Ranveer Singh-led spy thriller continues to face release hurdles in parts of the Middle East. Now, one of the voices behind the viral track has spoken candidly about his desire to watch the film and his admiration for its leading actors.

In an exclusive conversation with NDTV’s Aditya Raj Kaul, FA9LA fame Flipperachi, whose real name is Hussam Aseem, spoke alongside producer DJ Outlaw about the song’s meteoric rise, its association with Dhurandhar, and their hope that the film eventually reaches audiences beyond India.

During the interview, Kaul asked whether the duo would like to see Dhurandhar release in the Middle East, even if it meant complying with local laws and censorship guidelines. The question carries weight, given that the film has not been released in several Gulf countries due to content-related objections.

Responding honestly, Flipperachi made it clear that he is eager to watch the film and hopes the situation changes. Calling Dhurandhar intriguing, he said the cast alone makes it a film worth seeing.

“Well, I would really like to watch the movie, to be honest. It’s an interesting film, and I’d like to see it because I’m a big fan of Akshaye Khanna. We know that he is a very seasoned actor and a celebrity. Back in the day, we used to watch many of the films he did,” Flipperachi said.

The rapper went on to underline Akshaye Khanna’s enduring appeal, noting that seeing the actor return in a powerful role holds special meaning for longtime fans who grew up watching his work. For Flipperachi, the excitement around Dhurandhar is not just about spectacle, but about performance.

“It would be nice to see a comeback for him. It would also be great to see Ranveer Singh. These actors have such strong acting and artistic skills that they make you want to watch them and see how they perform. The film is very interesting, and I really want to see it,” he added.

Dhurandhar has drawn praise for its casting choices, particularly Akshaye Khanna’s brief but impactful screen presence. His dance sequence set to FA9LA became one of the film’s most talked-about moments online, giving the Bahraini hip-hop track a second life and pushing it into viral territory across platforms.

FA9LA, also known as Faasla, is a Bahraini hip-hop track produced by DJ Outlaw and featuring Flipperachi. The song stands out for its fusion of Indian tabla rhythms with Arabic musical textures and contemporary hip-hop beats. Though it was released nearly a year before Dhurandhar hit theatres, the track had already built a following on TikTok, where users latched onto its infectious groove.

Its association with Dhurandhar, however, took its popularity to a new level. After the song featured in Akshaye Khanna’s dance sequence, clips flooded social media, turning both the track and its creators into viral sensations almost overnight.

While the film’s release remains restricted in parts of the Middle East, voices like Flipperachi’s reflect the growing curiosity and demand among international audiences. For the rapper, the hope is simple: that Dhurandhar eventually finds a way to cross borders, allowing fans of the music and the actors to experience the film in full.
