Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated films of 2026, produced under the esteemed banner of Aamir Khan Productions.

Actor-comedian Vir Das plays the title role in the movie, which also serves as his directorial debut. The project has created a lot of buzz even before it is officially released; fans and moviegoers are already getting more excited about it thanks to its trailer and songs.

Vir Das provided an update on the movie's certification on social media prior to its theatrical release.

In a humorous post, he revealed that the film has received an ‘A’ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification, joking that it is the only “A” he has ever received. He also announced that advance bookings for the film will open the following day as it prepares for its release in cinemas.

Sharing the news, Vir Das wrote, “Not a good student, only A I’ve EVER received #happypatel Jan 16! Advance bookings open TOMORROW!”

Vir Das, renowned for his globally acclaimed comedy specials and memorable performances in films such as Go Goa Gone, Badmaash Company, and Delhi Belly, is collaborating with Aamir Khan Productions for the second time following the cult classic Delhi Belly. This reunion has further amplified anticipation for the film among audiences.

The Madras High Court has intervened to protect Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos, adding an extra layer of security for its theatrical release. This will guarantee that viewers can enjoy the movie on its planned release date of January 16, 2026, without worrying about piracy.

Aamir Khan Films, the production company of actor-producer Aamir Khan, filed the lawsuit, Aamir Khan Productions v. BSNL, because of worries about the film's unapproved online distribution. Bar and Bench reports that Justice Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy issued an ad-interim injunction that prohibits the movie from being distributed or broadcast until further directives are given.

Produced under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions, Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos will be directed by Vir Das and is slated for a theatrical release on 16th January 2026.
