Veteran actress Sudha Chandran is making headlines after a video of her went viral on social media. Several users have suggested that the actress appeared to be spiritually possessed during the devotional moment, and the video depicts her in what many have characterised as a trance-like state during a Devi bhajan.
Sudha Chandran is seen in the video donning a red and white colour saree, which are typically associated with goddess worship. "Jai Mata Di" is written on a headband that covers her forehead.
The actress is emotionally overpowered and briefly loses control of her movements as the bhajan goes on. To make sure she doesn't fall or hurt herself, three people can be seen supporting and holding her at one point.
The video is said to have been taken at a religious event when Sudha Chandran was performing Mata bhajans. Her movements grow more noticeable as the devotional singing gets louder, forcing people nearby to intervene and support her.
The video received a conflicting response from the audience. Many have described the scene as a profound spiritual trance during devotion.
