Despite sustaining an injury on the sets of her upcoming biographical drama Eetha, Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor is reportedly set to begin filming her next big project, the fantasy film Naagin, in April 2026. Reports indicate that while Eetha is expected to wrap by the end of March, Naagin will go on floors shortly afterwards, reflecting Shraddha’s packed schedule and commitment to her work.
Shraddha has been deeply immersed in the physically demanding shoot for Eetha, directed by Laxman Utekar, in which she portrays the legendary Tamasha and Lavani performer Vithabai Narayangaonkar.
The role has required intense physical training, including energetic dance sequences, which reportedly led to a muscle injury during a Lavani routine. Despite the setback, shooting is progressing and is anticipated to conclude on schedule.
As quoted by Mid-day, “Shraddha has been deeply invested in Eetha. The role is physically gruelling and emotionally intense, but she is keen to finish the film within the schedule. The makers are confident of wrapping by March.”
Industry insiders reveal that even before Eetha wraps, preparations for Naagin have been underway, with the creative team finalising visual effects designs, casting, and other pre-production work. The fantasy project — which draws inspiration from Indian mythology and folklore — is highly anticipated, with Shraddha expected to take on a shape-shifting role that stands in stark contrast to her grounded performance in Eetha.
“Naagin has been in development for a long time, and the team wanted to get everything right - from the VFX design to the casting. With Shraddha locked in, the rest of the cast has fallen into place. The plan is to start shooting by April."

Fans and industry watchers are excited about Shraddha’s ambitious 2026 slate, as she transitions from a gritty biographical drama to a larger-than-life fantasy adventure without much downtime. Naagin has been in development for an extended period, and the team’s focus on world-building and high-end visual effects suggests it could be one of the year’s major Bollywood releases.
