Shahid Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna are reportedly set to collaborate once again, this time for an upcoming untitled romantic comedy to be directed by Badhaai Ho filmmaker Amit Ravindernath Sharma. The project is said to be in the early stages and has already sparked excitement among fans eager to see the duo reunite on screen.

According to a report by Variety India, the film will be a rom-com helmed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, marking his next directorial venture after his successful earlier projects. The pairing of Shahid and Rashmika is expected to bring a fresh dynamic to the genre.

The report further stated, “Shahid and Rashmika are believed to have struck a great professional rapport during the filming of Cocktail 2 and readily agreed to work together again when approached for this latest project. This untitled film promises a refreshing blend of romance and comedy, with their on-screen dynamic expected to be more personal, emotional and layered compared to the breezy, modern relationships explored in Homi Adajania’s Cocktail 2."

Meanwhile, Shahid Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna are also set to be seen together in Cocktail 2, the sequel to the popular romantic drama. The shooting for the film has already been completed, and it is being directed by Homi Adajania.

While fans are eagerly awaiting an official release announcement, recent reports suggest that the makers are targeting a release window in the third quarter of 2026.

A Mid Day report shed light on the strategic planning behind Cocktail 2’s release timeline. According to the publication, the decision to schedule the film six months after Shahid Kapoor’s earlier release, O’ Romeo, was a carefully thought-out move.

A source told the publication, “The gap was very consciously planned. O’ Romeo and Cocktail 2 are very different films, and no one wanted them stepping on each other’s toes. Six months gives Shahid the space to arrive with a new energy and image. From a trade point of view, it makes sense. Audiences need time to move on from one character before embracing the next. September gives Cocktail 2 its own identity.”

Adding to the update, the latest report claims that the makers of Cocktail 2 have now locked in a September release date. This ensures a clear six-month gap after Shahid Kapoor’s O’ Romeo, which is scheduled to hit theatres in February, allowing both films to maintain distinct identities at the box office.
