Cocktail 2, starring Shahid Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and Kriti Sanon, has officially wrapped up its shoot, with director Homi Adajania sharing the update as the team marked the milestone with a wrap-up celebration.
The filming for the much-awaited project has been completed, and Shahid, Kriti and Rashmika were seen celebrating the moment alongside director Homi Adajania as the shoot came to an end.
Taking to Instagram on Saturday, Homi shared a picture from the sets capturing the cast and crew coming together to celebrate the wrap. The photo featured Shahid Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Kriti Sanon and Homi Adajania joyfully cutting a cake together.
The picture carried the text, “#filmwrap Love you fools. Fun was had!” while in the caption, the filmmaker wrote, “Cocktail2 shoot wrapped. I may be biased, but this one feels a tad special. Big love to my fab crew & cast for tolerating the absurdity that I am. Love you guys."
While the makers are yet to announce the film’s official release date, a report by Mid-Day stated that Cocktail 2 is likely to hit theatres in the third quarter of 2026.
According to the Mid-Day report, the decision to release Cocktail 2 around six months after Shahid Kapoor’s earlier film O’ Romeo was a strategic one. The gap is meant to give both films ample breathing space and allow audiences to experience Shahid Kapoor in a distinctly different avatar.
The original Cocktail revolved around a contemporary love triangle between Gautam Kapoor (Saif Ali Khan), Veronica Melaney (Deepika Padukone) and Meera Sahni (Diana Penty). The film delved into themes of romance, friendship and emotional loyalty, set against a youthful, urban backdrop.
Although details about the sequel remain tightly under wraps, Cocktail 2 has been described as a spiritual sequel. The film is being produced by Dinesh Vijan under the Maddock Films banner, with the script written by Luv Ranjan and direction helmed by Homi Adajania.
